Bali® Roller Shades: Basics

Inside mount blinds will fit within the window casing for a clean, custom look.  Enter the actual size of your window casing, NOT the size of your old blind.  We will make the necessary deductions to make the blind fit properly.  Make sure your window meets the minimum inside mount specifications, or flush mount specifications if desired.

Outside mount blinds will be installed on the wall above the window, covering the window entirely.  Enter the size you want the finished product to be, including the desired overlap.  The ordered height will include the hardware for blinds and shades.  This option is required if your window is not deep enough to install the blind as an inside mount.

A continuous cord loop and clutch assembly that provides the mechanical advantage needed to raise large shades.  Cord loop remains the same length, regardless of shade position.  Available color-coordinated to fabric or as a stainless steel chain.

Note: shades with a continuous cord will be made with the fabric approximately 1 3/8" narrower than the width ordered, creating a significant light gap on each side.  Better light control is available by selecting a spring roller and/or an outside mount shade, with standard roll (instead of reverse roll).

Without any dangling chains or cords, the cordless roller is a safer choice for households with children and pets, and offers a more streamlined look.  Smooth, quiet operation is ensured by its double-brake design.  Matching tassels (included) make it easy to raise and lower the shade and help keep fabrics clean.

Note: cordless roller shades will be made with the fabric approximately 1" narrower than the width ordered, creating a 1/2" light gap on each side.  For best light control, select standard roll (instead of reverse roll).

Bali Smart Pull control allows you to raise the shade and lower the shade with just a gentle pull.  To raise the shade , pull the cord gently.  To lower the shade, pull the cord with a small quick tug.  The shade lowers easily and automatically.  To stop the shade while it is lowering, gently pull the cord again.  Smart pull cord is color cordinated with your shade.

Raise and lower the shade with an internal motor controlled with one of the available remote control options (at least one required per order).  Radio frequency remotes does not require line of site to operate.  Single-channel remotes control all shades at once, or 5-channel remotes control up to five separate shades or groups of shades independently.  Battery wands are prefilled with lithium batteries.  Battery wands are installed either above or beside the shade (for outside mounts) or behind (for inside mounts).

Motorized operation raises and lowers shades with no external lift cords.  Come with plug-in power adapter with 25' cord.  Radio frequency wireless system operates shades within a 65-foot radius (no line of sight required) with your choice of remote control.  At least one control must be ordered to operate the shade; 1-Channel remotes operate all shades on that channel at once.  5-Channel remotes operate up to five separate shades or groups of shades.

Fabric rolls off the front of the shade, hiding the fabric roll.  The fabric on a standard roll shade comes off the back of the roll, which exposes both the roll and the back of the fabric.  Reverse roll shades may offer less light control because the fabric hangs further from the window glass.

Fabric rolls off the back of the shade, allowing the fabric to hang closer to the window for optimal light control.  The back of the fabric will be visible on the roll.

For shades ordered with continuous cord lift, select a chain color to coordinate or contrast with your chosen fabric color.  If ordering with cordless or motorized lift, select "Not Applicable".

A decorative cut along the bottom of the shade for a more elegant appearance.  Available with your choice of gimp trim color.

An optional square-corner PVC, channel panel valance with coordinating fabric inserts.

This optional valance is a curved sleek, aluminum-extruded, fabric covered valance available with all lifting mechanisms.  The cassette valance is 3 7/8" tall and 4 1/8" deep.

Crafted from premium hardwood, the stately design of the Noble Wood Cornice lends an impressive appearance to your shade.  Available in stained or painted finishes and in either 5 1/2" or 7 1/2" sizes - the large size works best with large shades or to create a more dramatic effect.  Cornices with outside mount shades will have 5" returns and a dustcover to conceal the top of the shade; for inside shades, the cornice will be straight cut on the end with no returns or dustcover.  Cornices will ship separately from your shade - it is recommended to install shade and cornice at the same time.
