Bali Exterior Shades are applied to the outside of windows to provide the benefits of Solar Shades year-round.  Ideal for patio, decks and windows facing strong morning or afternoon sun, Exterior Solar Shades stop heat transference to keep your home cooler and reduce air conditioning costs.  The solar screen material also blocks damaging UV rays while still maintaining your view to the outside.  The fabric and all components are specially designed to operate outdoors.  The Lattice fabric style has a 5% openness rating, meaning it will block 95% of UV rays.

The blind is mounted inside the window casing; offers a tailored look, emphasizing the actual size of the window.  Any deductions will be made by the manufacturer.  Window casing should at least meet the minimum depth required to accommodate the brackets, or the flush mount depth to have the headrail fully recessed in the casing.  When selecting your size, enter the actual dimensions of your window casing.

The blind is mounted on the wall or molding outside the window casing to cover an area larger than the window itself.  Outside mounted blinds are required if the window casing is not deep enough to accommodate the mounting brackets for an inside mount.  When selecting your size, enter the desired size of the blind itself - at least 1 1/2" of overlap on each side is recommended.

Continuous Cord (Stainless Steel)

A continuous cord loop and clutch assembly that provides the mechanical advantage needed to raise large shades.  Cord loop remains the same length, regardless of shade position.  Available color-coordinated to fabric or as a stainless steel chain.

Note: shades with a continuous cord will be made with the fabric approximately 1 3/8" narrower than the width ordered, creating a significant light gap on each side.  Better light control is available by selecting a spring roller and/or an outside mount shade, with standard roll (instead of reverse roll).

Standard Roll

Fabric rolls off the front of the shade, hiding the fabric roll.  The fabric on a standard roll shade comes off the back of the roll, which exposes both the roll and the back of the fabric.  Reverse roll shades may offer less light control because the fabric hangs further from the window glass.

Fabric rolls off the back of the shade, allowing the fabric to hang closer to the window for optimal light control.  The back of the fabric will be visible on the roll.

This curved sleek, aluminum-extruded cassette provides a finished look for your shade and helps cover the fabric roll from view and from the elements.  The powder-coated finish is rated for outdoor use and is available in three colors.  The medium cassette fits most size shades.

Hold-Down Brackets

Hold-Down Brackets

Hold-down brackets prevent blinds from swaying and are recommended for blinds and shades installed on doors and over windows subject to wind exposure.  Brackets must be unfastened from wall/door for shade to raise.  Available for outside mount applications only.

Note: Small holes will be included in each side of the bottom rail to accommodate the hold-down brackets.
