While most solar screen shades allow some light to penetrate and thus maintain some view-through, this unique product blocks 99% of all incoming light.  The material itself is higher quality than a typical blackout roller shade however, featuring a subtle cloth-like texture and a smooth backing that helps insulate against solar heat gain.  Fabrics are the same color on the front and the back.  Since the fabric is a blackout material, this solar shade also provides complete daytime and nighttime privacy.
Note: To operate properly, the fabric on your shade will be up to 1 1/2" narrower than the width ordered.  Light seepage on the sides of the shade is inherent to the design of roller shades.  To reduce light seepage, consider ordering the shade as an outside mount.  See our measure and order guide for more information.

Inside

Inside mount blinds will fit within the window casing for a clean, custom look.  Enter the actual size of your window casing, NOT the size of your old blind.  We will make the necessary deductions to make the blind fit properly.  Make sure your window meets the minimum inside mount specifications, or flush mount specifications if desired.

Outside mount blinds will be installed on the wall above the window, covering the window entirely.  Enter the size you want the finished product to be, including the desired overlap.  The ordered height will include the hardware for blinds and shades.  This option is required if your window is not deep enough to install the blind as an inside mount.

Continuous Cord (Solar Shade)

A continuous cord loop and clutch assembly that provides the mechanical advantage needed to raise large shades.  Cord loop remains the same length, regardless of shade position.

Roller provides convenient spring action to retract and lower shade.

Note: shades with a spring roller will be made with the fabric up to 1" narrower than the width ordered, creating a 1/2" light gap on each side.  For best light control, select an outside mount and/or standard roll (instead of reverse roll).

Standard Roll

Fabric rolls off the front of the shade, hiding the fabric roll.  The fabric on a standard roll shade comes off the back of the roll, which exposes both the roll and the back of the fabric.  Reverse roll shades may offer less light control because the fabric hangs further from the window glass.

Fabric rolls off the back of the shade, allowing the fabric to hang closer to the window for optimal light control.  The back of the fabric will be visible on the roll.
