Energy Efficient Shades, Blinds & Window Treatments
- Be kind to your pocketbook, lower bills
- Reduce energy needs
- Thermal picks maintain inside temps
- Absorb outside heat & cold
- Block UV rays, protect furnishings
Add energy efficiency to your home by choosing the right window coverings. An insulating window shade will quickly pay for itself by lowering your heating and cooling bills. Cellular shades are the best insulator with year-round efficiency, and shutters are also a great choice. Roman shades and custom drapery with thermal lining also provide good insulation. Remember that shades must be closed to provide insulation, so choose a fabric opacity that fits your lighting needs. Solar screen shades provide view-through and summertime efficiency but should be paired with another treatment for nighttime privacy and winter insulation.
Although light is substantially blocked, some vague shadows may be visible.

"Measure twice, install once"
By ZB from Baltimore, Maryland
Our blinds are perfect for our screened porch. We bought 3 and measured very carefully for the first one. The 2nd two we assumed were the same size and just quickly measured. The openings were just ever so slightly different... we were able to install the first one no problem, working in the same order, but they increasingly got harder because of our measurements (we re measured more carefully when it started getting difficult). Luckily for us it was a minimal difference, and we got them installed, but we made it harder on ourselves than necessary with our assumption that they would all be exactly equal. Great product, easy to install if you measure well, easy to use, good looking, love them!View this product
"Great Outdoor Shade"
By Frank from Fire Island
This well made outdoor shade solved a problem for us. Too much sun in a west facing window during dinner prep time, Closing the shade helps prevent food spoilage from sun exposure. Iis attractive as wellView this product
