Energy Efficient Shades, Blinds & Window Treatments

  • Be kind to your pocketbook, lower bills
  • Reduce energy needs
  • Thermal picks maintain inside temps
  • Absorb outside heat & cold
  • Block UV rays, protect furnishings

Add energy efficiency to your home by choosing the right window coverings. An insulating window shade will quickly pay for itself by lowering your heating and cooling bills. Cellular shades are the best insulator with year-round efficiency, and shutters are also a great choice. Roman shades and custom drapery with thermal lining also provide good insulation. Remember that shades must be closed to provide insulation, so choose a fabric opacity that fits your lighting needs. Solar screen shades provide view-through and summertime efficiency but should be paired with another treatment for nighttime privacy and winter insulation.

"Skylight Blind"

By Ed from Santa Maria, CA

This blind is great!  The only problem I encountered was I installed the mounting brackets backwards.  The pictures in the instructions were correct but a cautionary note on them about the mounting direction would have been nice but they still work well.  I am quite happy with the blind.
