Things to consider:

When shopping for a child safe blind or shade, consider which operating mechanism is right for the window.  Since cordless shades are operated by gently pushing or pulling the bottom rail, make sure you will be able to reach as high or as low as you will need to position your blind.  For very tall or hard to reach windows, a motorized blind or the continuous cord loop option might be right for you.
