Blackout shades and blinds block nearly all incoming light with cellular shade, roman shade, roller shade, woven wood, pleated shade, panel track and skylight choices. Although sometimes called Blackout Blinds, a light blocking blackout effect is best achieved with shades, as they block the most light with a tight-fitting inside-mounted opaque shade. Blackout Shades eliminate maximum light seepage with specially woven material or with the addition of a liner to create a darker space than the subtler Room Darkening Shades. Custom blackout blinds provide the darkest blackout experience available.

"Do what they need to"

By from

The "Basics" are pure vinyl (unlike other blinds which have polyester to which I am allergic) and they block light as they need to.  These are used in my home theater.

"Great versatility!"

By JenDahl from Olympia, WA

We just installed Bali Dual shades in our family room. The window faces west, so it is great to be able to pull down the solar shades to filter the light, but also be able to pull down the second set for privacy.
