Blackout shades and blinds block nearly all incoming light with cellular shade, roman shade, roller shade, woven wood, pleated shade, panel track and skylight choices. Although sometimes called Blackout Blinds, a light blocking blackout effect is best achieved with shades, as they block the most light with a tight-fitting inside-mounted opaque shade. Blackout Shades eliminate maximum light seepage with specially woven material or with the addition of a liner to create a darker space than the subtler Room Darkening Shades. Custom blackout blinds provide the darkest blackout experience available.

"Does the job well"

By SMC from New Jersey

A nearby parking lot recently upgraded their security lighting to the point where even with my shades closed my bedroom was bright enough to read a book all night long. These do an excellent job of stopping that light when they're down, and when it's daytime and you want the day light, they take up a minimal amount of the window when opened.

"Easy to install"

By Debo from Knoxville, TN

We needed to cover three windows ( 110" in width) and wanted the blinds inside the window frame not on the outside. I needed two people to help install but just for marking the holes for installing the brackets. We like them for sure but we might not have gotten the blinds that also drop from the top because there is a lot of extra string that we have to hide. I guess we really only needed blinds that rise from the bottom up. We have the only lowered the top a few times and realistically may never do that again.
