Black Bean Chili

Black Bean Chili

2 pounds ground sirloin or ground turkey
1 tsp. Worcestershire
2 medium onions, diced
6 – 8 garlic cloves, chopped fine
6 pickled jalapeños, chopped
2 – 3 Tbsp. chili powder
1 quart beef stock
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce or 8 oz additional diced tomatoes
2 cans black, pinto or kidney beans – rinsed and drained
Olive oil
Salt & pepper to taste

In large stock pan, heat olive oil & add onions with chili powder. Sauté 10 mins. or until lightly brown. Add meat to onions & brown well. Add garlic & sauté briefly. Pour in stock, tomatoes, beans, Worcestershire & jalapenos. Season with salt & pepper. Simmer 15-20 mins. If chili is too thick, add more stock, water or tomatoes. Garnish with sour cream, chopped green onions & grated cheddar cheese.
