Follow my four rules and your pillows will never shout at you, but will happily hang out anywhere you put them.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 First, go tonal and textural as a base, selecting one base color. Choose pillows in a neutral palette with small designs and build up from these soft and monochromatic tones.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Now, add some color but keep the color in your main palette but mix and match the shades of this color to create variety and depth as you add pillows through the color spectrum of your one chosen color.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Get bolder now and add contrast with graphic patterns or a painterly design.\u00a0Using a stripe and adding a subtle flowery or abstract design always works. This is where the fun begins as you add splashes, splotches, dots.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Now choose one or two much bolder pillows, whether in scale of the design (big) or select a darker, brighter color. When you, now, introduce a design with many colors, try to find at least one common thread color that matches your main color theme so that all the pillows will tie beautifully together.\u00a0Just a hint of similar colors makes your pillow canvas look professional. Fluff up the pillows, sit back and savor the view.<\/p>\n
