Just about a month ago, we noticed that 75% of our team is made up of women. It\u2019s not something we set out to engineer. It\u2019s something that happened as we grew and hired great people to do great things. Still, it reflects Blindsgalore’s roots and its future. We are WBENC-certified, after all.<\/p>\n
Back in 1998, Chelle Walters had the idea to bring custom window coverings online. At the time, most people were still shopping in showrooms. She wanted to build an experience that was simpler and involved less salespeople breathing down your neck. Today, Blindsgalore is still family-owned and operated by Chelle and her daughter, Alissa Walters. That foundation has stayed consistent, even as everything else has evolved.<\/p>\n

Over the years, we\u2019ve helped cover more than two million windows nationwide. The goal has always been to make custom blinds and shades easier to shop for. Offer real options and help from our team of in-house experts to help customers feel confident doing it themselves. That still drives what we do every day. Make the process easier and everything else will follow.<\/p>\n
It’s all about momentum. As Alissa puts it, “What’s more exciting is what comes next. We’re going to continue to grow and build a place where great ideas and great design lead the way.”<\/em> Our San Diego-based team continues to drive innovation across product design and customer experience.<\/p>\n From Chelle\u2019s perspective, the mission hasn\u2019t changed. Seeing so many talented women shaping the future of Blindsgalore and leading the way is something that makes us incredibly proud. <\/p>\n The home improvement space still leans heavily on traditional retail. We can’t wait for that to change. It’s part of the reason why we chose a different path early on and kept building. We can make it better.
