The right window treatment can add something special and amazing to any room in your home. When decorating a room, many people overlook the window coverings, but truly this is a design feature that needs as much attention as the carpet, furniture, and color scheme. In order to help you pick the right set of treatments there are a few things that you want to consider.<\/p>\n

Lighting<\/strong>
\nWhat is the lighting like in your room? Does the room in question get plenty of natural light? If you don’t want to block the natural light that flows in through your window, you will need to pick a window covering that doesn’t block too much of that light. If you want to block some of the light, you can look at solar screens<\/a>, blackout curtains<\/a>, window shades<\/a>, or shutters<\/a> to help keep the light out.
\nAre you concerned about blocking ultraviolet light? Ultraviolet light can damage your fabrics and furniture over time. Some blinds, shades, and screens can block this light and help your furniture and fabrics to last longer. Solar screens are an excellent choice for blocking UV rays.<\/p>\n

\nDo you want to be able to see out the window? Are you trying to block others from being able to see in? Keeping or blocking the window’s view is an important part of choosing the right window coverings. If you want to be able to see out, consider sheer curtains, solar screens, or blinds. \nThere are many window coverings that can also save you money on your electric bill. Honeycomb shades, roman shades, and even shutters can help to save you energy. Cellular shades are considered the best window coverings for energy efficiency.<\/p>\n

Care<\/strong>
\nAnother important considering when picking your window coverings is how much care, cleaning, and upkeep will your window treatments will need. Consider the room and its usage. A kitchen or a room with pets could require an easy-care blind or shade.
