This post will provide a list of durable window treatments.\u00a0By that I mean, made from durable materials as well as ones that are easy to clean.\u00a0These window treatments are also a good choice for any &#8220;high-traffic&#8221; rooms in your home &#8211; this may or may not involve the presence of children or pets.\u00a0This includes kitchens, bathrooms, garages, mud rooms, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/faux-wood-blinds\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<h4>Faux Wood Blinds<\/h4>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/faux-wood-blinds\" target=\"_blank\">Made from either PVC vinyl or composite wood, faux wood blinds look like real wood blinds, but with substantially more durability.<\/a>\u00a0 Because the slats are made from man-made materials, they won&#8217;t warp, crack or fade. They are also scratch, and dent, resistant.\u00a0You can clean them with just about any cleaner too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/aluminum-mini-blinds\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<h4>Aluminum Mini Blinds<\/h4>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/aluminum-mini-blinds\">The slats of aluminum blinds are made from durable aluminum.<\/a> Obviously, right? But there&#8217;s more.\u00a0Many of the better brands of mini blinds offer different gauge sizes, typically from 6-9 gauge.\u00a0The larger the number, the thicker the slat.\u00a0For maximum durability choose a larger slat size.\u00a0While I am on the subject of durability, most of the brand name manufacturers (Bali, Levolor, Graber, etc.) build their window treatments with better components, like steel headrails (the operating mechanism at the top).\u00a0Many even offer dust and scratch-resistant paints.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/shutters\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<h4>Shutters<\/h4>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/shutters\" target=\"_blank\">Shutters made from PVC\/vinyl or composite wood are very durable.<\/a> They are also made from real wood, but that&#8217;s not the point of this article. Often called faux wood plantation shutters, these window treatments are very substantial and offer the same durability features as faux wood blinds. The nice thing about plantation shutters, beyond their good looks, is that they are the only window treatment that actually adds value to a home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/shop\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<h4>Finally&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blindsgalore.com\/shop\" target=\"_blank\">If you want your window treatments to last, work well and fit well in your window, steer clear of cheap, stock-sized blinds and shades.\u00a0Sure, the super low price is tempting but, you know the old saying, &#8220;you get what you pay for.&#8221; We have plenty of budget-friendly custom blinds and shades available for you.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are a parent, a pet owner, or both, this is a guide to help you choose durable window treatments for your home.
