Window Treatments For Hard To Reach Windows

  • Cover high spots for additional privacy
  • Consider light control needs on high windows
  • Protect interior from UV rays and heat gain
  • Versatile top down/bottom up to preserve view
  • Add motorization for easier operation

A tall wall full of windows provides great views and plenty of light, but may let in damaging UV rays or unwanted heat. Hard to reach areas usually require custom made blinds for high windows. Determine how much light control you need and if you'd like your shade to be adjustable. If you don't plan on raising or lowering your shades, choose a cellular shade with light filtering qualities that fit your needs. For total control over your shade, we suggest motorization that will allow you to raise, lower, or tilt your blinds with a remote control instead of struggling to grab a hold of those hard to reach window treatments.

"Easy Privacy"

By Beachy DYIer from Santa Cruz, CA

Got this blind for a tall bathroom window over a sink. The motor works great. We got the single one blind remote, and it is great pressing a button and getting privacy, no trying to reach over the sink. Blind itself is OK construction, polyester fabric is OK, average. We didn't want the blind sticking out more by putting the batteries for motor behind it, and so we put the battery pack on top of headrail. Being up so high, the battery pack is pretty unobtrusive, so we are happy with that. Figuring out the blind mounting was fairly simple. It took a little longer to figure out the battery pack mounting from the instruction photos, but once we finally understood what was meant, it was not hard to do. I shopped around quite a bit, and for a motorized blind, I am very happy with the price. Also, I picked Bali because it seemed to have the most narrow blinds with the motorized option. Our window was only 19", and we ended up getting the 20" outside mount to fit it.
