Customer Reviews for Fabric Yellow / Cream Top Seller Blindsgalore Sheer Window Shades
"Great Value"
By kathyfl1 from Frederick, MD
Blinds are a great value for the price compared to the more expensive brands. They look very nice in the room and do a good job blocking sunlight for the television during the day.

We purchased these for a spare bedroom to replace an old roller shade. The room receives afternoon sun. Although these horizontal sheer shades do not completely block out the light (when compared to traditional opaque shades) they do a very good job at most times of day or night. When the room is receiving full sun, light seeps through at the junction of the fabric "louvers" and at the edges, but the fabric itself is opaque. There is no problem in the morning -- the room stays dark enough to allow someone to sleep in. We have Hunter Douglas sheer shades (professionally installed) in other parts of the house. The Blindsgalore ones compare favorably to those in most respects. The aspect where I notice some lowering of quality is in the construction of the header and the mechanism of the continuous cord pulls. Installation of the blinds (interior mount) was a pain and the instructions (without words) were not very good. Although I realize multi-lingual instructions may be expensive, I really don't understand why manufacturers are insisting on providing picture only instructions. We did eventually get the shades up. Two of us worked on it -- it would be difficult to mount these with one person unless you had done a number of them. It was difficult to line up all three of the clipping mechanisms while simultaneously ensuring that the blinds were centered in the window (ours are off by 1/4" or so) and while avoiding two plastic "pins" at the ends of the header which tended to interfere with the clips.
