We have a large picture window that faces the setting sun.  It also has an amazing view high on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.  We hate to fully close up the window but sometimes the glare and bright light of the sun is too much. For years we have had a beautiful wooden horizontal blind.  The wood matched the trim around the window.  The problem was that it was so heavy because the window is so big.  We would always pull it up and down instead of just opening and closing it because we didn't want to miss any of the view if we didn't have to. What we really wanted was something that we could still see through, at least as much as possible, while cutting the glare of the sun as it set.  We were hesitant to switch to a roller shade and one that was made out of a synthetic material.  I guess we thought it might look cheap - like the old spring loaded white roller shades which used to drive us crazy. We took a chance on this shade because the price was so reasonable.  We installed it and immediately fell in love with it.  Not only can we see through it while it cuts the glare, but, it hardly takes up any space at all when it is completely rolled up.  We didn't realize how much view we were missing with the old wooden blind.  Even pulled all the way up the wooden blind hid about 8" of the window. Our new solar shade is also so light weight and easy to roll up and down.  It is safer because there are no cords for little kids to get tangled in, and, it looks great!  It doesn't look cheap at all, and, it certainly doesn't remind us of the old white roller shades.  Yeah! We are now going to order more. Great shipping and service too!
