Patterns and Expressions

Posted by

If done properly, the combination of different patterns in a room can bring excitement and visual interest into a space. Patterns may be added to a room in many forms such as rugs, pillows, lampshades, window treatments, upholstery, and wallpaper. While combining paisley, stripes, and geometrics may feel like entering dangerous decorating territory for some, the payoff of a unique combination will be an inspiring designer look with personality. Follow these few simple tips and check out the combinations below for confidence and inspiration to guide you.

• Stay safe by not using more than 3 patterns in one room

• Mix various styles of patterns such as stripes and a floral print

• Mix different scales of patterns such as a small dot print combined with a large stripe

• Have the different patterns share at least one similar color

Just look at all of the colorful pattern combinations we came up with featuring Blindsgalore® Expressions Roller Shades and various decorative accessories.
