Make It Your Super Bowl With Free Printables

Love it or hate it, the Super Bowl is here, so let’s just get this one thing out of the way right now. If you are the type to yell at the screen or cry after a tough loss of your favorite team, this post may not be for you. I enjoy the Super Bowl, but for me it’s all about the pageantry and food. My husband and I do watch football. Ok, he watches the game and I scan Facebook for pictures of my friends on my phone while adding the occasional, “No, honey I can’t believe that call”. To make the Super Bowl more fun, here you will find a few things that can add a female touch to the unofficial male-centric holiday of the year.

The Prop Bets

No, I’m not talking about the possibility of the Broncos keeping the game within a 4 point spread or even who will win the game. Spare me that prediction. Prop bets are the weird things that no one really pays attention to unless a few bucks are riding on these bets. Although the official list has not been released yet, here are some from last year.

1. How long will it take Idina Menzel to sign the U.S. national anthem?

2. How many times will “deflated balls” be referred to during the game (teeheehee).

3. Which song will Katy Perry perform first at halftime?

4. What color will Katy Perry’s hair be when she begins the halftime show?

5. What color will the Gatorade (or liquid) be that is dumped on the head coach of the winning Super Bowl team?

6. Which color will Bill Belichick’s hoodie be?

The Food

By now, you all know I love making treats for Super Bowl Sunday, or really any day. Contrary to popular belief, super snacks don’t all have to be soaked in mounds of liquid fluorescent cheese or fiery buffalo sauce. Try these cherry bombs to pep (pop) up all of your family and football friends.

Cherry Bombs

Much like jalapeno poppers, these cherry peppers are an instant classic. Simply add crumbled cooked bacon to a mixture of softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar. Stuff the mixture into pitted cherry peppers. Coat the peppers in flour, then eggs and roll them in breadcrumbs (panko are my fave crunchy breadcrumbs). Next, add the peppers to a medium sauté pan with heated olive oil and cook until brown. Drain on paper towels to remove any excess oil and serve piping hot. Your guests will be amazed at your gastro pub approach to cooking. We won’t tell anyone that you discovered the recipe on our decor blog; after all, we believe in sharing good ideas, having fun and loving Sundays.
