Time is one of my most precious commodities and I am always thinking of ways to pack more hours into my day by dreaming up ways to take the monotony out of day to day chores. As my to-do list becomes insurmountable, my ideas are beginning to overwhelm me, so I am sharing some wacky and fun ways that might not ever be invented but would surely make me happier. I might not have the prowess to create all of these marvelous inventions, but I can build them in my incessant imagination. Here are my favorite fantasy gadgets to make all of our lives easier.

Dusting Drone
My first invention will take care of the dusting. There’s nothing more tedious than running a rag across every nook and cranny in my house. I don’t remember letting this mess in – how does it manage to show up every week? Since flying drones have gotten so popular, I think they’d be a quite a help in this department. I already trust my Roomba to scoot around and vacuum for me; image it with wings! Soaring through the house, cleaning hard to reach places and polishing everything for a perfect shine. An attached feather duster will help pick up what’s left behind and the spinning propellers that will help knock away an extra layer of grime. A dusting drone is just what I need to make housework fly by.

Washing Machine Wonder
I’ve always wanted a serious upgrade to my washing machine. To be fair, it is already saving me a lot of time compared to the old school method of a washboard and a bar of soap but what if I could dump my entire wash load inside my washer, without separating colors and completely forget about moving them to a separate dryer afterwards? Now, I think we are onto something! A folding and sorting option would be even better. Then, all I’d have to do is wait for my super washing machine to easily deliver the folded duds, sheets and towels to the right drawers in each room. If my washing machine were able to complete all of these duties all on its own “smartness,” I would be able to carve out more time for so many other things. Does anyone really like folding laundry?

Smart Windows
Since I spend so much of my life with windows and how to make them stylish, safe and functional, window treatments should be able to go up and down and tilt on their own without fiddling with cords. Surely, you know motorized blinds just do that already with a flick of a button but you can also hook these up to your smart phone and open and close them from anywhere at any time. But, hey, what about having to change batteries when the motor gives out. Thank goodness for the sun and solar power as some outdoor solar shades are now harnessing the power of the sun and come equipped with a solar pack to keep your batteries charged all year long. Keep tuned for the strides that are being made in this area of “home life made easier.”

Tilt-A-Home
My last big spin on fantasy home ideas centers on the whole house and beyond. I love watching the sunset (almost as much as I’d love watching the sunrise if it wasn’t so early) but my windows aren’t always facing the right way. If our houses could rotate, almost like they were on a giant turntable or a lazy Susan, we’d always be able to get the most out of our view. After all, it’s good to exercise a change in perspective. The same gadget would work great on harsh morning light, too. Why would I want to wake up with the sun beaming into my face? I’d rather spin the house around and give it all to my garden. Wow…a spinning house to match my moods, the light and the weather.

Even if I don’t have access all of my fantastic inventions, that won’t stop me from thinking them up. Just one of them would make a huge impact in my housework! Maybe one day a charming inventor will come and sweep me off my feet, making it his lifelong business to create all of my ingenious contraptions. Then I could finally squeeze in some of that beach time and soak up some sunshine. Until then, I will keep cramming with the “busyness” or is it “business” of life and preserve my dreams.

Please share with me the fantasy gadgets that you are desperately needing as I know the list has to be long.
