Thanksgiving offers us a moment in time to reflect on the collection of events that have brought us together to express gratitude as we celebrate the bounty of our lives. I think this season of thanks is more poignant as the fragility of each day has been heightened by the recent and vicious terrorist attacks across the world. We have all been assaulted. Our American dream of freedom of choice, freedom from fear, freedom to celebrate and freedom to live in peace is threatened.
As you gather this holiday, be mindful of the tenuous road we travel. Take every chance to explore the crossroads, skip lightly over the potholes, challenge the roadblocks, cherish the beauty, take the long way around and grasp the hands of everyone along the way so you are not lost on the journey.
May your Thanksgiving table be overflowing with good tastes, good friends, good memories, good words and a soulful prayer for peace.
