I have two large sets of patio doors that overlook a lagoon and the Pacific Ocean ( lucky me, even if ocean is a ways away). To preserve my view, I mounted Solar Shades on the outside of my large patio window doors, under an eave to hide the cassette. My shades are also motorized with a solar battery so I never have to replace a battery or wire in the shades. I jiggered up an unusual installation, but I love that my windows are totally unobstructed.
