Art Students Recycle Blindsgalore Swatches and Samples

At Apache Elementary in Overland Park, KS, Fine Arts teacher Caroline Bockelman was thrilled to receive a supply of discontinued swatches and samples from Blindsgalore. Bockelman teaches students in grades K-6, but it was her fourth graders who seemed to have the most fun repurposing the swatches.

“Basically, in my class, my students get art reward days by earning positive behavior points.  On reward days, they are given time to create an art project of their choice using various materials in the classroom.  When available, the students are also able to incorporate any “special” materials into their projects like these great samples from Blindsgalore.

My students were SO excited by the samples and couldn’t wait to start working.  I am always amazed by their ability to turn “trash” into treasure. It was great to see them experimenting. With little to no direction, the students came up with some fantastic projects and left my class thrilled by their BG-inspired creations!”

Check out the pictures and the creative uses they found for our materials. We never knew our old samples and swatches could become such great works of art!
