My mom has motorized shades and state flags ceiling-hanging sideways to offset her garage office from the rest of the hardworking flex room (this is California). Our third terrier puppy turned one which makes her a dog now, yet she is still feverish for chewing on succulent plant roots. She took out an enclave beneath our sumac tree. Just as I resolved to replant, I spotted, under the tree, a glorious fresh trail of ivy that had jumped three feet away to take over the job for me. Symbiosis, plants talking, how wondrous! It made me want to listen to Leon Bridges sing Ivy.
