Blackout shades and blinds block nearly all incoming light with cellular shade, roman shade, roller shade, woven wood, pleated shade, panel track and skylight choices. Although sometimes called Blackout Blinds, a light blocking blackout effect is best achieved with shades, as they block the most light with a tight-fitting inside-mounted opaque shade. Blackout Shades eliminate maximum light seepage with specially woven material or with the addition of a liner to create a darker space than the subtler Room Darkening Shades. Custom blackout blinds provide the darkest blackout experience available.

"fantastic products + exceptional customer service"

My new top down bottom up cordless lift honeycomb shade has now been installed and looks great. But beyond the high quality of the products offered, it's the customer service that really sets BG apart from the rest in my experience. When I ordered this shade I knew my windows were too tall for me to be able to reach all the way up there to raise and lower the shade. I thought I'd just figure out later how to deal with that challenge. I was talking to customer service about a question and happened to mention that. She said she could order the extension pole from the manufacturer for me but when she got the price it was higher than I wanted to pay. I said I'd just figure out something on my own with a broom handle or whatever. Later that day, I received an email that a package was on the way to me. I received it a day later and it was the plastic end-cap that has the hook to lower and another section to lift -- all I have to do is add the pole. That was at no charge to me. I have at least 4 other stories similar to that regarding my purchases from BG over the years where their service after the sale was above-and-beyond excellent. This company gets my highest customer service rating and the products and prices are great too!

"Best shades ever"

These are the most amazing shades ever! I love being able to have blackout for sleeping and light-filtering for daytime privacy on the same headrail. Due to my casement windows, outside mount was a perfect choice. I mounted directly to the window trim, and measured to keep about 1 inch of trim visible all around the shade when open. The shades were very easy to install, and they feel very durable. They look very luxurious, but with a fabulously affordable price. Blindsgalore has excellent customer service, and the staff answered all of my questions by phone. My photo shows them on blackout.
