Blindsgalore National Scholarship

Blindsgalore proudly contributes to the ABWA Scholarship Fund and is now holding an essay contest. The contest winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship in the name of ABWA Scholarship Fund.

A Cause Close To Us

As a woman-owned company, Blindsgalore is proud to partner with the ABWA to create higher education opportunities for women in order to help them achieve greater success in the business world.

Since its inception in 1953, the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF) has been assisting women in achieving success through higher education. Today the educational fund of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) is considered one of the most highly respected grant and scholarship programs for women in the country. Over the past 60 years, the fund's Board of Trustees has awarded more than $17 million in scholarships to more than 16,000 women thanks to the generous contributions of ABWA members.

SBMEF assists women who are pursuing advanced educational goals to achieve both business and professional success; to become role models, mentors, and leaders for the future. Selection of scholarship winners in communities across the United States has grown into one of ABWA's favorite and most long-standing traditions.

ABWA's Mission

The American Business Women's Association's (ABWA) mission is to provide educational grants and scholarships to women pursuing post secondary educational goals as well as ongoing professional development in order to support their career advancement and to help them become the role models, mentors and leaders of the future.

You must also include along with your essay your full name, email address, post address, college, year to graduate, phone number and a brief bio about yourself. Please limit your bio to 150 words or less. The essay and accompanying information must be submitted to no later than March 17, 2017 by 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).

The deadline to submit an essay is March 17, 2017. Essays will be read and evaluated and the winner will be selected by April 28, 2017 and contacted via email and phone (provided on the sign up page). Scholarship must be used for tuition or books. Scholarship is not renewable (means that it is good for only this cycle and a second scholarship will not be awarded to the same recipient in the subsequent year). Selection will be made by the Board of Trustees of ABWA's educational scholarship fund. For the scholarship to be awarded, we must have a minimum of 3 qualified applicants that have completed the entire process. Checks not cashed will not be reissued and scholarship will be returned to the general SBMEF fund. (This is a rare occurrence but has happened).
