How Alexa Blinds Work

Alexa blinds for windows use a simple three-part system: motorized window treatments, a compatible smart hub, and your Amazon Echo device (Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, or any Alexa-enabled speaker).

The motorized shade does the physical work. A rechargeable battery motor built into the headrail raises, lowers, or tilts your blinds when it receives a signal. The smart hub is the translator. It connects to your home WiFi and bridges communication between Alexa and your motorized shades. Without a hub, Alexa can't talk to your blinds. Your Amazon Echo device listens for voice commands and sends them to the hub, which relays them to the shade.
