Materials & Construction

  • 4 Sided Frame: Fully surrounds the shutter for a secure, polished fit—ideal for standard windows without a sill.
  • 4 Sided Frame with Sill: Designed for windows with an existing sill; the bottom of the frame rests neatly on the sill for proper fit and light control.
  • Tilt Type: Choose between Front Tilt Bar or Hidden Gear Tilt for your preferred look and operation.
  • Divider Rails: Separate upper and lower louvers for independent light control; placement can be customized for symmetry across windows.
  • Hinges: Available in Brass, Stainless Steel, or Painted finishes; painted hinges coordinate with shutter color.

Frame Styles

  • L-Frame: Best for outside mount with window trim or minimal sill depth; mounts on or beyond trim.
  • Casing Frame: Decorative outside mount frame ideal for windows without trim; easiest installation with pre-drilled screw holes.
  • Bullnose Z-Frame: Inside mount with rounded edges—ideal for drywall returns and slightly out-of-square windows.
  • Trim Frame: Inside mount with decorative overlap; perfect when no existing trim is present.

Panel Configuration

When ordering shutters, it’s important to specify how the panels will be hinged—both to the frame and to one another. Panel configurations are described from left to right as viewed from inside the home.

  • One Panel Left: Single panel hinged on the left, opens from the right.
  • One Panel Right: Single panel hinged on the right, opens from the left.
  • Two Panels Left: Two panels hinged together, folding to the left.
  • Two Panels Right: Two panels hinged together, folding to the right.
  • Two Panels Left and Right: Independent panels on either side of the frame, opening separately.
  • Four Panels, Two Left and Two Right: Two pairs of panels hinged together, folding left and right for a full open view. A center support post, or T-Post, will be between the set of panels.
