Blackout shades and blinds block nearly all incoming light with cellular shade, roman shade, roller shade, woven wood, pleated shade, panel track and skylight choices. Although sometimes called Blackout Blinds, a light blocking blackout effect is best achieved with shades, as they block the most light with a tight-fitting inside-mounted opaque shade. Blackout Shades eliminate maximum light seepage with specially woven material or with the addition of a liner to create a darker space than the subtler Room Darkening Shades. Custom blackout blinds provide the darkest blackout experience available.

"Love these blinds!"

By Cak from Mn

I have had woven shades before but they all had strings to pull up and down. These blinds are so well made and easy to pull up and down with just a touch. They are amazing. I looked at other companies that also have quality blinds but these were less expensive for the same thing. I now have them throughout our new house. Installation was kind of difficult. We read the directions and watched video online. Very frustrating. Finally, we called customer service and George 'walked us through' the entire process. Now that we know how to do it, they are a breeze to put up. Maybe 5-10 minutes. You can't go wrong with these blinds or this company.

"THE VERY DIFFICULT INSTALLATION HAS DETRACTED FROM THE LOOK"

By Robert from FL

No matter how lovely, how well-crafted, priced, et cetera these shades are- and they are very nice- the mounting system is a disaster- wholly inadequate for all but the most trivial installations. The mount's design is simple- a short length of channel track is mounted on the shade at the factor. The installer's job is to align and mount a spring clip into the opening's structure. To hang the shade, just align the tracks, give a quick push to the shade and the clips snap securely to the tracks. Exhale, ooh and aah as you wish, you are done. Two fasteners per clip, three clips per shade. Dream on, nightmare ahead. The problem is simple: the tolerances, or wiggle room is so minute and the number of potential problems so great, know this now: you will fail. Mounting your shade into sheet-rock over concrete block? Your screws will have heads too large to let the clips catch the track. There is also a very good chance those same heads will be too close to channels- and ride on top of them, rather than along side. Your immediate future is bleak bud. The ability to tweak your work by micro adjusting the clip's position is so limited and fraught with other problems (torque is one) Many holes, much dust ahead. Then, when finally hung, you look and the shade doesn't hang quite right. Blindsgalore, their competitors, and suppliers ought not deliver one more shade until the mounting system is up to the task.
